Japan’s Klab sets up a new VC subsidiary: Klab Venture Partners

October 22, 2015, Klab Ventures’ investment has reported setup a new company called Klab Venture Partners.  Klab originally a back end service provider, rode the social mobile wave (bubble) and has expanded their business into many different industries.

In 2011 (Dec) Klab and SBI Investments merged to create Klab Ventures, and from their invested in over 14 different start up in which 3 have already exited successfully.  From Klab looks to create a completely 100% owned subsidiary called Klab Ventures Partners that will look to support early stages start up companies.

Below are the company details:

Company Name:KLab Venture Partners株式会社(KLab Venture Partners Co., Ltd.)
President:Mr. Hirokazu Nagano 長野 泰和
Started:Octoeber 21 2015
Capital:10,000,000 Yen
Address:166-6122 Tokyo-to Minato-ku Roppongi 6-10-1 Roppongi Hills Mori Tower (〒106-6122 東京都港区六本木6-10-1 六本木ヒルズ森タワー)

According to CEO Hirokazu Nagano, there won’t be much of a difference between KLab Venture Partners’ and KLab Ventures’ M.O. when it comes to selecting startups to invest in. As a fully-owned subsidiary of KLab, the new VC will be able to make the most of its parent company’s resources, technology, and networks, Hirokazu points out. As the previous VC, KLab Ventures, has invested its allocated fund, it was a good time to start off a new company, entirely under KLab.

Along with this, Klab also looks to expand into the Philippines market, due to the lack of funding companies presence currently.
